Hi! Welcome to My Blog!
Welcome to a new place for all you hard working spouses of network marketers!
My name is Kathy and my husband is a rather well known figure in the network marketing/MLM world. I'll just refer to him as Dr. R for now. I may reveal his identity later (if he doesn't mind) and since he is a network marketer, I suspect he won't!
I'm fairly new to network marketing and this is the first time I have actually done a blog. We will see how it goes, but so far, so good!
If you are the spouse of a network marketer, or are dating someone in network marketing, or just came across the blog by accident, one of your first questions might be, what is network marketing anyway. I asked my husband this question. Fifteen minutes later my eyes had glazed over and I still had no idea what he was talking about. Now, I am not without my own resources. I have managed to become competent in many areas of business. I was the COO of a large nonprofit corportion for crying out loud, but this whole idea of network marketing escaped me. Oh, I understood generally what it was, but my question was what is the point and why would anyone do this???
Believe it or not, it was not until THIS YEAR that I (he, we) finally found a source that explained it--well enough for even us business types to get it! And where is this source you are asking, well, here is it is: http://www.explorefreedom.com/blindguy/ The nice thing about this presentation (besides the fact that it is not boring), is that it really covers all the bases. I hope it helps you too!
One of the biggest hurdles I had to overcome with regard to my husband's business was recognizing it as a legitimate business! Dr. R has more degrees than sense (well, sometimes anyway). So why do MLM? Why not get a "real job?" That is a complicated question. We'll talk about that along the way. Otherwise, this blog would be 50 pages long, your eyes would glaze over, well, you get the point.
I do have one disclaimer. I started this blog as a way to talk about some of the challenges behind the scenes. I am not an expert in network marketing, MLMs, or any other name you care to throw out there. Most of this is just my observations and opinons. So, I'm always open to other ways of looking at things, but hey, this is my party, so I get to say what I want to!
I look forward to hearing from all you underappreciated, overworked, stressed MLM spouses out there. Look for more as the story continue to unfold!
As they say in the business, see you at the top!
Kathy
